New York City’s Test & Trace Corps worked to reduce Covid-19 testing inequities by developing a mobile testing program focused on communities disproportionately affected by Covid-19. The model engaged community partners to determine the best methods of outreach and utilized multiple testing strategies. Based on the whether and community needs, free testing was offered outdoors, from vehicles, or at community spaces. Testing was both clinician-administered and patient-administered. Community organizations and organizers facilitated outreach to residents in their neighborhoods. The practice was successful in increasing access to testing, contact tracing, and isolation/aftercare support in these communities.

Peer Review Study
This article details the work of the Asian Health Services (AHS), a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Alameda County, California. In May 2020, AHS sought to document the experiences and needs of the Asian American community they serve through a cross-sectional survey. The surveys were available in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, traditional Chinese, and Korean. Results display the diverse needs of the Asian American community, including issues with access to testing, anti-Asian discrimination, and language barriers offer several barriers to this community. The Health Equity Assessment Toolkit (HEAT) is a software application that facilitates the assessment of within-country health inequalities. It was developed for use on desktop or laptop computers and mobile devices. Explore inequality, which enables users to explore the situation in one setting of interest (e.g. a country, province or district) to determine the latest situation of inequality and the change in inequalities over time. Compare inequality, which enables users to benchmark, i.e. compare the situation in one setting of interest with the situation in other settings.

This article parallels the works of the multidisciplinary academic group on children and coronavirus (MACC) in Israel with a multidisciplinary team from John Hopkins’ own efforts to create data-driven solutions to minimize health and education inequities for children throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This project produced several outputs including a series of free, web-based, school-reopening modules for school and district administrators; a 2020-2021 School Reopening Tracker based on publicly available data sources; a Teacher & School Staff Vaccination COVID-19 Dashboard; and a COVID-19 Global Education Recovery Tracker. The COVID-19 U.S. State Policy (CUSP) database documents the dates all 50 states and the District of Columbia implemented health and social policies to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic ramifications. CUSP is designed to be a tool for researchers, policymakers, the media, and the public to better understand how policies impact population health and health equity. The CUSP team tracks when and how states implemented over 200 policies during the COVID-19 pandemic and includes original source documentation.
